There is a hot new hatchback in town. The Skoda Octavia vRS iV is here with its plug-in hybrid powertrain and ready to go.
The Octavia vRS iV 242bhp plug-in hybrid is the second member of the Octavia family. Price-wise, the hatchback variant has an entry price of £35,020. The estate model comes in at £36,220. You can order your Skoda Octavia vRS iV from the 3rd of November in the UK.
The Skoda Octavia vRS iV is powered by the 1.4-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, as well as the 113bhp electric motor. This is the same powertrain that you can find in the Golf GTE.
An impressive top speed of 139 and a 0-62mph in just 7.3 seconds. Thirty-seven miles of that will be covered entirely on electricity only. It is, however, essential that you make sure you have regularly charged the vehicle. The Skoda Octavia vRS iV 13kWh battery pack will be fully charged in as little as 3.5 hours.
The estate variant is capable of between 176.6mpg and 235.4mpg, and the saloon will give 176.6mpg and 256.8mpg. CO2 emissions are put at between 26g/km and 36g/km, depending on which version you opt for.
As standard, you will find 19-inch alloys on the Skoda Octavia vRS iV wheels and sleek body kit. They are fitted with LED Matix Headlights, chrome finishes on the exhaust tips, and privacy glass. Front and rear parking sensors, a tailgate spoiler, and red brake clippers are great additions. Other standard equipments included are the 10.0inch touchscreen infotainment system, that runs on Skoda’s latest ‘always online’ MIB3 interface.
The Virtual Cockpit display features tri-zone climate control, electric tailgate, parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, and more.
If you opt for the upgraded models, you can enjoy a keyless go, LED ambient lighting packages, and two 10-inch screens. One of these is situated behind the steering wheel, and the other is in the centre panel of the dashboard. Comfort being non-negotiable, you can enjoy heated sport seats, a premium leather sports steering wheel as well as an Alcantara trim for the dash. Aluminium pedals give an extra touch.
The contrast stitching adds an exciting design feature inside the car. When combined with the upgraded ambient footwell lighting, the vehicle provides a fully rounded, comfortable experience.
At launch, you can expect to find both the estate body and the hatchback, and while petrol is immediately available, diesel is expected to follow at a later date. The petrol unit will be offered in with a six-speed manual gearbox eventually too.
The Skoda Octavia vRS iV is equipped with a retuned signature vRS sports suspension, on the petrol and diesel versions only, and lowers the car by 15mm. The progressive steering is as standard too.
