Jaguar F Pace Review

Jaguar F Pace

Jaguar’s first SUV and rival to every other SUV out there is the F-Pace model. The Audi Q5 needed a rival, as did the Porsche Macan and BMW X3, and Jaguar produced that rival in spades. The breadth of engine options and pricing structures makes it competitive, from the frugal four-cylinder diesel model to the pricey and supercharged V6 petrol.

When it comes to size, the Land Rover Discovery Sport is comparatively the same size as the Jaguar F-Pace. It’s important to know though, that this isn’t a Land Rover rebranded; it’s got more in common with the XE and XF saloons, also by Jaguar. The body is built with aluminium and other lightweight materials to improve agility and keep it a light vehicle to drive. The body is super stiff, and very much has a focus on the road. This is unusual for an SUV, where most have the technology to go off-road without issue. There are five different trims for the F-Pace group of cars, and we’ve got a breakdown for you below:

Jaguar F-Pace Estate Prestige

The cheapest trim around, it has the following features:

  • 18-inch alloys
  • A powered tailgate
  • Seats that are both leather and heated
  • Front and rear parking sensors
  • Keyless start
  • Climate and cruise controls

You also have the option to add the InControl Touch Pro infotainment system, adjustable lumbar support and rear seat remote release levers. This particular trim is available with a 2.0 litre diesel engine and ranges in price from £34,000-£43,500.

Jaguar F-Pace Estate R-Sport

The entry-level Prestige sets the bar for this trim, but you get all of those features plus:

  • Xenon headlights
  • 19in alloys
  • Sporty styling touches that you can add on

You could also add the InControl Touch Pro infotainment system, adjustable lumbar support and rear seat remote release levers. This is a trim that is only available with 2.0 diesel engines.

Jaguar F-Pace Estate Portfolio

This is a trim that is different from the others, adding:

  • A glass, panoramic roof
  • Electric seats
  • Keyless entry
  • Heated windscreen

It’s more expensive than the Prestige trim, which means that the starting price is up to £38,717 to £49, 214.

Jaguar F-Pace Estate S

A range-topping trim that is reserved for the V6 diesel and supercharged V6 petrol engine. This trim is seriously equipped, with the following:

  • 20inch alloys
  • Adaptive suspension
  • Panoramic roof

This model has a serious price jump up to £52,000 as a start, which - while it has all the bells and whistles - makes it harder to recommend.

Jaguar F-Pace Estate SVR

The cream of the crop, the SVR is 5.0 supercharged V8 and encompasses everything that Jaguar has to offer and more. The price starts at a hefty £75,000 but you get so much for your money it could be worth it.
